With [hide]BlizzCon[/hide] about two weeks away, the [hide]WoW Insider[/hide] staff is celebrating the wild, wonderful world of WoW machinima by revisiting some old favorites.

[hide]Mat McCurley[/hide] is a gentleman of taste, aplomb, and eloquence. He’s a joy in conversation and a pleasure to share a cup of coffee with. He does, however, have a verbal tic. If you utter the words «Exodar,» «Draenei,» or «disco» around him, he explodes into song. It’s really quite amazing, since he does an astounding rendition of [hide]Exodar Disco[/hide].

Exodar Disco may be the finest piece of work that Greyfoo has ever created (that, or we’re all just obsessed with it because McCurley is such a big fan). We even play it at BlizzCon every year...

Blizzard’s Chris Metzen was on hand at [hide]GDC Online[/hide] to discuss [hide]user-created content[/hide] for World of Warcraft and how the system just wouldn’t fly in WoW’s architecture. The logistics of player-created content in a game with millions upon millions of players would, most likely, be too overwhelming for a system and game that thrives on polish and quality control. Don’t expect to see user-generated content in WoW any time soon.

While I am a fan of this type of content, I don’t believe it really has a place in WoW. Azeroth is a much more story-driven, linear experience than most people want to discuss, and Blizzard likes to hold our hands through it all to make sure we’re doing things according to plan...

If you’re on the Outland (EU) realm, you’re in luck! Blizzard’s Vaneras has announced in a blue post today that free character transfers have been opened [hide]from Outland to Agamaggan, Burning Steppes, and Vashj[/hide].

According to [hide]Warcraft Realms[/hide], all three destination realms are very lightly populated, which is likely the rationale behind this offer. Transfers will only be available until Oct. 18, so if you need a fresh start, now’s your chance!

Hey everyone. I’m so excited I could just puke, because BlizzCon 2011 is almost here. It’s like Christmas is around the corner. I’m so excited I can’t sleep.
