The Queue: Healing is ________ since the start of Cataclysm

Welcome back to [hide]The Queue[/hide], the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky ([hide]@adamholisky[/hide]), senior editor at WoW Insider, will be your host today.

I always loved fill-in-the-blank questions in high school and college, mainly because they presented me a golden opportunity to bull-jive my way through a test. There is such thing as «right enough» that the professor just relents and gives you credit, and by Jove, that leads us to our first question …

Junikins asked:

I started to heal a lot at the start of the expansion, but I quit since it wasn’t fun. Too easy to wipe a group with simple lag, and everyone always blamed the healer. Has it gotten any better?[hide]Continue reading The Queue: Healing is __...

WoW Moviewatch: Largest crit in the world

[hide]This video[/hide] is a little different from our usual fare. [hide]Swifty[/hide] and [hide]Cartoonz[/hide] went to heroic measures to put together the largest crit in the world. You can watch as someone gets slammed by a crit for over 600k damage.

I won’t go into details about how the team achieved this level of damage, since that’s the whole point of the video. Essentially, though, two teams got together in [hide]Warsong Gulch[/hide] and conspired to apply all the buffs and debuffs possible.

Don’t worry about getting hit by a crit of this size in your usual Warsong Gulch gameplay. When you watch the video, you’ll see that it took a lot of work and a little luck to make this crit happen.

Blizzard auctioning off old servers for charity

Want to own a real piece of Warcraft history? Ever wanted to own your entire server? Starting Oct. 17, Blizzard will be [hide]auctioning off[/hide] the actual server blades of yesteryear to benefit the [hide]St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital[/hide]. WoW has gone through a lot of technical changes over the years, and the old server blades are just that — old. What better way than to celebrate the early years of the game than to give the proceeds to such an important cause?

The auctions will last from Oct. 17 through Nov. 14, with each realm’s original server blade going on sale. What’s a server blade, you ask? Each server, with its own processing power and all that jazz, lives in a rack with other servers at the big server enclosure...

Addon Spotlight: More information from Visual Combat Table

Each week, WoW Insider’s [hide]Mathew McCurley[/hide] brings you a fresh look at [hide]reader-submitted UIs[/hide] as well as [hide]Addon Spotlight[/hide], which focuses on the backbone of the WoW gameplay experience: the user interface. Everything from bags to bars, buttons to DPS meters and beyond — your addons folder will never be the same.

Tanking used to be inaccessible because of the numbers game — mitigation numbers that were hidden away in the great unknown. Players had to rely on the stalwart parsers and number crunchers over at [hide]EJ[/hide], [hide]Tankspot[/hide], [hide]Maintankadin[/hide], and all sorts of websites in order to inform the community about these magic numbers on defensive stats to let a tank do his job...

I love [hide]October[/hide]. While any baseball fan will tell you that there’s a special feeling in the air during October, I couldn’t care less about the [hide]World Series[/hide]. I know plenty of football fans who enjoy spending their Octobers obsessing over their [hide]fantasy rosters[/hide], but my team has cruised to a 5-and-0 start already. I’m not even particularly excited that my birthday falls in October, as another event takes priority...

Around Azeroth: Once upon a time in Exodar

[hide][/hide]
Submitter Maraad just couldn’t resist taking his new stallion for a stroll around the Exodar, even though the paladin horsey is patently too small for an enormous Draenei and would probably snap in half underneath Maraad’s weight.

Is he simply excited about turning level 20 and being able to quit walking everywhere, or has that Blood Elf Bandit mask seeped into his brain and turned him into a horse thief? If it’s the latter, let me remind you that stealing horses is way too 19th-century for a blue space goat.

The Queue: I am totally pumped

Welcome back to [hide]The Queue[/hide], the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. [hide]Alex Ziebart[/hide] will be your host today.

Can you smell that? Smells like … anticipation.

Dom asked:

Alex, you’re writing the Queue today right? Yesterday Adam [hide]said he wasn’t pumped[/hide] about Blizzcon.
